The author of "Orange is the New Black," the memoir that inspired the hit Netflix series of the same name, had a message for Capitol Hill: Reform should be the new black.During a Senate hearing on prison oversight Tuesday, Piper Kerman shared stories from her own 13-month federal sentence in Danbury, Conn., that sounded much like the on-screeen exploits of OITNB characters Red, Taystee and Pennsatucky. She urged lawmakers to address the ways the system discounts the needs of women prisoners.
